U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn, representing Tennessee, visited McNairy County to survey the damage caused by recent storms. Accompanying her were key officials, including Tennessee Emergency Management Agency Director Patrick Sheehan, McNairy County Mayor Larry Smith, Selmer City Mayor Sherry Inman, and McNairy County Emergency Management Agency Director Allen Strickland. Their first stop was at the recovery center located in the McNairy County Agricultural Event Center.

Senator Blackburn and the team assessed various damage sites, emphasizing the importance of recovery efforts. Following the site surveys, Senator Blackburn participated in a roundtable discussion at the McNairy County Courthouse.

During the meeting, they noted the tragic loss of five lives due to the recent storms. Senator Blackburn expressed gratitude, stating, “We are so grateful to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency for taking the time to join us and for their hard work on behalf of the Tennesseans impacted by the storms this month in McNairy County. This recovery wouldn’t be possible without the local officials, non-profit organizations, law enforcement officers, and volunteers who have stepped up to the plate to help their neighbors and their community.”
