Steve Cohen, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee's 9th district, recently shared his views and concerns on various issues through a series of tweets. Cohen has been serving in Congress since 2007 after succeeding Harold Ford Jr. He has also served in the Tennessee Senate from 1983 to 2003.

On January 28, 2025, Cohen expressed criticism regarding former President Trump's funding policies. "Trump’s illegal funding freeze is straight out of Project 2025: slashing housing, health care, even cancer research while jacking up costs for working people. It’s unconstitutional and it’s all for the billionaire class." He called for legislative action to address these issues.

On January 30, 2025, Cohen addressed a tragic accident at DCA airport. "I'm closely monitoring tonight's tragic accident at DCA and in contact with the FAA and NTSB. As we await more information, my thoughts are with everyone involved and the first responders working at the scene." He indicated ongoing communication with relevant authorities and expressed his concern for those affected.

Later that day, he reiterated his condolences following the incident at DCA. "Last night’s crash at DCA was a terrible tragedy. My deepest sympathies for all of the victims, and for their families and friends." He extended gratitude to first responders for their courageous efforts during such challenging circumstances.
