Steve Cohen, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee's 9th district since 2007, recently shared his views on social media through a series of tweets. Cohen has been active in public service for several decades and has an educational background from Vanderbilt University and the University of Memphis.

On January 27, 2025, Cohen expressed gratitude towards Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a brief tweet stating, "Thank you @GovRonDeSantis".

In another tweet on the same day, Cohen commented on proceedings before the House Judiciary Committee regarding immigration. He appreciated the presence of a knowledgeable witness by saying, "An informed and non partisan witness before House Judiciary Committee on Immigration . Thank you".

Cohen also addressed recent events involving Israeli hostages and drew comparisons to domestic issues. On January 27, he remarked critically about former President Trump's comments regarding January 6 insurrectionists by stating that calling them hostages was inappropriate. He tweeted, "So sad what the Israeli hostages endured and that some were murdered yet Trump calls J6 insurrectionists hostages however they, like Hamas, are terrorists.CLling them hostages demeans the Hamas hostages. Shame!".
