U.S. Senators Marsha Blackburn and Jacky Rosen have introduced the No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act, aiming to prevent migrants linked to Hamas from entering the United States. The legislation responds to concerns about individuals on the terrorist watchlist being released into the country.
Senator Blackburn stated, "Since January 2021, the Biden-Harris administration has released nearly 100 dangerous individuals on the terrorist watchlist into the country, as well as illegal immigrants from U.S. adversaries like Iran." She emphasized that this bipartisan bill would ensure no migrant tied to Hamas or its recent attacks receives immigration benefits funded by taxpayers.
Senator Rosen added her support by saying, "No one who participated in Hamas’s brutal October 7 terrorist attack should be allowed to enter the United States." She stressed her commitment to bipartisan efforts aimed at national security.
The proposed act seeks to bar entry and deny immigration benefits to any individual involved in various capacities with the attacks carried out by Hamas against Israel on October 7, 2023. The bill was previously introduced in the House of Representatives by Representative Tom McClintock and passed with significant support.
