NASHVILLE, TENN. – U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) has written a letter to Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) urging him to fulfill his commitment to obtain and release records related to Jeffrey Epstein's estate and flight logs.
Blackburn highlighted the previous stonewalling of her requests for a subpoena for the complete, unredacted Epstein flight logs. However, she expressed her satisfaction with Durbin's recent change of heart, citing his intention and willingness to work with her on a bipartisan basis to obtain relevant records.
The senator emphasized the importance of transparency, stating, "the American people have the right to know who flew on Epstein's plane and who potentially participated in his international sex trafficking ring." She called for the Judiciary Committee's first action upon the Senate's return to be the authorization of a subpoena for Epstein's estate and the FBI to obtain the complete and unredacted flight logs, as well as Ghislaine Maxwell's "little black book."
Senator Blackburn has been a vocal advocate for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein's alleged trafficking ring, having spoken out in public hearings in 2019 and 2020.
In a December 14 Judiciary Subcommittee on Human Rights hearing, Senator Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) shared a note from Chairman Durbin, reaffirming his commitment to obtaining and releasing Epstein's flight records after multiple requests from Blackburn.
