Christian Brothers University Strong Pitching Lifts Bucs Past LeMoyne-Owen

The Christian Brothers University baseball team held visiting LeMoyne-Owen to just three hits in a 9-0 win, on Wednesday afternoon, at Nadicksbernd Field. 

FINAL SCORE: CBU 9 (11-14) | LOC 0 (0-16) 


GAME CHANGER:

Three CBU pitchers combined to allow just three hits, while striking out 11. 


INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

  • CBU finished with a 5-3 edge in hits. 
  • The Bucs took advantage of three LOC errors. 
  • Charlie Faoro finished 2-3 with two doubles and three RBIs. 
  • Dalton Pyzer had a two-run home run. 
  • Jay White was 1-4 with a double. 
  • Starting pitcher Charlie Seahorn worked four innings, allowing just two hits, with five strikeouts. 
  • Relief pitchers Banks Caughman and Justin Tilley combined for five innings of one hit ball.
KEY PLAYS:

The Bucs got on the board in the second on a two-run home run by Pyzer. 

In the third, CBU scored a pair using a double steal and an RBI double by Faoro. 

With CBU leading 5-0, Faoro smacked his second double of the game to drive in a pair. 

CBU finished the scoring in the eighth using a passed ball and an error. 


NOTABLES:

  • The shutout is the first for the Bucs since 2021 (Lane 17-0). 
  • The win for Seahorn is the first of his collegiate career.
