Los Lynx secured their 2nd SAA win of the season Sunday afternoon on the road against rival Sewanee.
Alexys Mathangani led the way for the Lynx and finished with a double-double (16 pts, 11 reb, and 5 assists). Avery Marsh also had a tremendous outing and finished with 15 pts, 4 reb, and 4 assists. Libby Long added to the offensive output with her 3pt shooting (3-6) and finished with 9 pts.
The Lynx offense was fueled by their defensive effort in the game. They held the Tigers to 26.4% shooting for the game and forced 16 turnovers (9 steals), leading to 15 points. The Lynx also won the paint (34-14) and rebounding (42-35) battles. The bench unit was an advantage for the Lynx. They outscored the Tigers' bench 17-7, led by Giana Vlahakos (6 pts) and Taylor Dupree (6 pts).
The win gives the Lynx their 2nd in 3 games they look to continue their momentum this Friday at home vs BSC at 6pm.
