The Rhodes Athletics Day of Giving concluded on November 9 to record-setting numbers. 1,041 donors contributed $283,490, both all-time highs, during the 24-hour campaign.
Funds donated by parents, alums, and friends of Lynx Athletics assist with operational athletic funding such as travel, uniforms, meals, and other expenditures required to run a championship-level athletics program.
"We're grateful for and awed by the 1,041 donors for supporting 530 Lynx student-athletes," said Jim Duncan, Rhodes College Director of Athletics. "Our student-athletes, coaches, and athletic staff work hard to achieve the Championship Culture we demand of winning in the classrooms, fields of play, and the Rhodes and Memphis communities. Our supporters are a part of building that culture, and we are extremely grateful."
Gifts made by Lynx alums during the Rhodes Athletics Day of Giving also counted towards our alumni participation rate, which affects our national rankings. 3,795 donations from alumni this year are needed to beat Sewanee in alumni participation.
