WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today questioned Special Counsel John Durham at a hearing of the Judiciary Committee. Durham was appointed to investigate the intelligence that led to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election. Congressman Cohen asked about Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort sharing internal polling data with a Russia intelligence operative and about a meeting at Trump Tower between Trump campaign officials and a Russian lawyer seeking to lift Magnitsky Act sanctions.

After two trials that led to acquittals, Durham recently released a report on his findings.

In his remarks, Congressman Cohen said in part:

“I tried to follow your report. Mr. Donald Trump Jr. would have called it a ‘nothing-burger.’ You got no convictions. You got nothing. It was all set up to hurt the Mueller Report, which was correct and was redacted, to hurt Biden and to help Trump, and you were a part of it…You had a good reputation…but…everybody’s reputation who gets involved with Donald Trump is damaged.”
