U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn has announced the advancement of five bills she sponsored or co-sponsored through the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. The legislation now awaits consideration by the full Senate.

Senator Blackburn expressed satisfaction with the progress, stating, "The 119th Congress is already off to a productive start, and I am pleased that five of my bills have moved forward out of the Commerce Committee to the full Senate for a vote." She encouraged her colleagues in the Senate to support these initiatives aimed at enhancing various sectors including music tourism, supply chain resilience, domestic manufacturing, vehicle safety standards, and hazardous weather forecasting.

The American Music Tourism Act seeks to utilize existing structures within the Department of Commerce to boost music tourism across the United States. It mandates a plan from the Department's Assistant Secretary for Travel and Tourism to enhance both domestic and international music-related travel.

The Promoting Resilient Supply Chains Act aims to fortify American supply chains critical for emerging technologies. This involves collaboration between private sector entities and government partners under the guidance of the Department of Commerce.

Another bill, the Strengthening Support for American Manufacturing Act, intends to streamline federal support for domestic manufacturers. It also includes an evaluation of current efforts by the Department of Commerce in supporting small businesses within this sector.

The She DRIVES Act focuses on updating crashworthiness testing procedures in passenger vehicles using advanced technology like female crash test dummies.

Lastly, the TORNADO Act calls for improved tornado forecasting through high-resolution probabilistic guidance. It requires action from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for national implementation.
