Today, U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee began her second term in the United States Senate. The ceremony took place in Washington, D.C., where she was sworn into the 119th Congress by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett.

Senator Blackburn expressed her commitment to serving the people of Tennessee. "It is an honor to serve Tennesseans in the United States Senate," she stated. She further outlined her priorities for this term: "Every single day, I am determined to fight for Tennesseans and represent their voice in Congress. There is no shortage of tasks for the Senate to tackle, and in the new Congress my priorities are cutting taxes, getting the economy working again, securing our border, and protecting children online." She also emphasized continuing efforts against what she described as "the New Axis of Evil," combating human trafficking, increasing healthcare access for veterans, and ensuring fairness in women's sports.

The swearing-in ceremony attracted over a hundred attendees from Tennessee who came to support Senator Blackburn as she embarks on another six-year term following a decisive victory in November 2024.
