U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn recently met with local and state officials to discuss ongoing repair efforts following the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene. The meeting took place in Washington County, where Senator Blackburn was joined by Governor Bill Lee and Deputy Governor and Commissioner of Transportation for Tennessee Butch Eley. They spoke with families affected by the hurricane, which resulted in significant loss of life, homes, and businesses.

In Greene County, Senator Blackburn reviewed progress on the reconstruction of Kinser Bridge. The bridge was swept away during the storm's impact on the Nolichucky River.

Senator Blackburn emphasized the importance of federal support in recovery efforts: “Our staff is working every single day to help people with flood recovery, and right now people are trying to get things cleaned up and cleaned out so they can make assessments about rebuilding and what recovery is going to look like. Our goal at the federal level is to continue to work with FEMA to get these projects completed as quickly as possible. We continue to lift up those who have felt the wrath of this storm in prayer.”
