The Memphis Tiger women's basketball team will take their final long trip of the regular season this week when they head to Houston and Tulsa this Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.

Memphis (14-9, 6-4 AAC) is coming off a gritty, defensive win against UCF that saw Emani Jefferson pick up her first career double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. The junior guard, who was named to the American Athletic Conference's Weekly Honor Roll, also dished out two assists, recorded one block and picked up four steals in the team's 50-48 win.

In the win, Memphis grabbed 58 rebounds and forced UCF into 27 turnovers while making no three-point field goals in the 45 minutes of play.

Jamirah Shutes would add in 12 points while Destiny Thomas grabbed 10 rebounds, nine of them coming on the offensive end.

The Tigers have been a force, offensively, this season; Memphis currently ranks 7th in Division I in free throw attempts per game, 11th in offensive rebounds per game, 19th in rebounds per game and 30th in defensive three-point shooting percentage.

For the season, Shutes and Madison Griggs lead the team with 14.9 and 12.4 points per game, respectively, while Hannah Riddick and Destiny Thomas are bringing down a combined 11.9 rebounds per game.

Houston (10-13, 7-3 AAC) was the talk of the AAC this weekend after they after handed #24/21 USF their first conference loss and broke their 12-game winning streak. Blair scored a career-high 30 points in route to the 71-69 win over the Bulls where the Cougars would go 11-24 from long range and force USF into 19 turnovers in the upset.

The Cougars are currently on a four-game winning streak and moved into second place in the AAC standings.

For the season, Blair leads the team this season with 15.5 points per game while Hill is grabbing just over seven points per game for the Cougars.

Memphis and Houston were slated to play one another two weeks ago in the Bluff City, but the ice storm that made its way through the Mid- South postponed the game. Last season when the two teams met, Memphis took the 57-53 win behind a defensive strong fourth quarter from the Tigers. Griggs and Jefferson led the team with 13 points each while Lanetta Williams pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.

Tulsa (16-8, 6-5 AAC) have dropped their last two games including a 69-67 loss to Tulane this past weekend.

After finding themselves down 15 to the Green Wave heading into the fourth quarter, the Golden Hurricane would open with an 11-0 run to cut their deficit to four. It would come down the wire where Tulsa had a chance to tie the game. But, a missed lay-up at the buzzer would end the game with Tulane taking the 69-67 win.

For the season, Poindexter leads the team with 16.1 points per game while also leading the team with 5.7 rebounds per contest.

Last season when Memphis and Tulsa met, the Golden Hurricane took both games after draining 19 combined three-pointers over the two-game span.
