Jefferson Walker/Men's Basketball | Rhodes College
Rhodes Men's Basketball fell to the Berry College Vikings Sunday afternoon in the highly anticipated SAA matchup against the top 2 teams in the conference. The loss ends the Lynx 3-game win streak and their SAA record now sits at 4-2.
Koki WIley led the way for the Lynx and finished the game with another double-double, inching him closer to the coveted 500 rebound club. He had 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists. SAA turnover/assist ratio leader, Jefferson Walker, finished with 16 points and 2 assists. Arness Georgetown II, +/- guru, battled down low against a very big Vikings team and finished with 12 points and 5 rebounds. He was +4 in the game despite the loss.
The Vikings' size was difficult for the Lynx to overcome without Jalen Essick, who is out with a concussion but expected to return next weekend. The Lynx were able to tie the Vikings in the rebounding battle (28-28), but lost the overall paint battle 46-34. The Vikings were led by Owen Honroth who finished with 21 points and Chase Ellis who finished with 19 points.
