- After trailing 8-7, the Bucs used a 16-4 run to take a 23-12 lead with 9:56 left until halftime.
- CBU led 25-15 with 8:06 left in the half, but the Statesmen used a 13-3 run to tie the game at 28 at the half.
- The Bucs shot 12-28 in the first half, and hit 4-12 from three point range.
- A three pointer from Jonathan Knight gave DSU a 49-44 lead with 9:50 left.
- After trailing 69-60, the Bucs used an 8-0 run to cut the lead to one with 1:09 remaining.
- Caleb Allen put back a missed three pointer to give DSU a 71-68 lead with 41 seconds left.
- The Statesmen hit all four of their free throws down the stretch to hold on for the win.
- The Statesmen shot 62 percent in the second half (18-29), including 4-8 from three point range.
- Maalik Cartwright led DSU with a game-high 45 points, including 26 in the second half.
- CBU finished the game 27-54 (50 percent) from the field.
- The Statesmen took advantage of 11 offensive rebounds with 14 second-chance points.
- Aiden Ruthsatz led the Bucs with a season-high 23 points.
- Nick Deifel (13) and Darell Johnson (11) rounded out the double-figure scorers for CBU.
CBU is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, Jan. 21 when they host West Georgia. Tipoff is set for 4 PM. The game also coincides with the CBU Basketball Reunion. All former CBU basketball players/staff are invited to attend.
