The University of Memphis Merriweather to Take Part in Memphis Grizzlies Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebrations

Katrina Merriweather/Women's Basketball Head Coach | The University of Memphis

Head Memphis women's basketball coach Katrina Merriweather will take part in the Memphis Grizzlies 21st Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration in conjunction with the National Civil Rights Museum this Sunday, January 15.
 
Merriweather, along with Grant Hill, Danny Green and Cornell Watson will sit on a panel that is centered around confronting Confederate Culture on College Campuses, moderated by Senior NBA Writer for ESPN and Andscape, Marc Spears. The conversation will be wide range with a central focus on Watson's photo series, Tarred Healing. Sunday will be the soft opening of Tarred Healing before being open to the public on MLK Day 2023.

Along with other special guests, including Gary Payton, Luol Deng, Nancy Lieberman and Eddie George who are all honorees of the 18th Annual National Civil Rights Museum Sports Legacy Award, the group will tour the National Civil Rights Museum prior to the panel.
