Memphis Tiger hoopster Kendric Davis was named American Athletic Conference Player of the Week Monday for his performances at the ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando.
Although it marks his first AAC weekly honor as a Tiger, it's the sixth of his career after collecting five at SMU.
The fifth-year point guard averaged 19.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists while leading Memphis (4-2) to wins over Nebraska and Stanford in Mickey's house.
He shot 41.2 percent overall (25-for-51), made five three-pointers and led the team with 10 makes at the charity stripe. He also swiped seven steals in the three games.
The Tigers were two seconds from going undefeated in the invitational, but Seton Hall banked in a buzzer beater to earn a 70-69 victory in the first game.
With the victories, the Tigers have already picked up three Power Five wins this season, all away from home.
