The Christian Brothers University volleyball team saw its comeback bid fall short in a 3-1 setback at Union, on Tuesday night, at Fred DeLay Gymnasium. After dropping the first two sets, the Lady Bucs bounced back to take the third but came up short in the fourth.

WHAT HAPPENED:
Union used a .233 hitting percentage to help it earn the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bulldogs started fast, with 14 kills and just two errors, to take the first set.
- Neither team led by more than two points until the hosts used a 4-1 run to take a 16-11 lead. The Lady Bulldogs then scored five of the final eight points to take a 2-0 lead.
- CBU raced out to a 7-1 lead, never relinquishing the lead, cutting the Union deficit to 2-1. Calah Jackson led the Lady Bucs with six points in the set.
- Union scored 10 of the first 13 points in the fourth set, and held on for the win.
- Calah Jackson led CBU with a match-high 11 kills and six blocks.
- Kimmy Hammond led the Lady Bucs defense with a career-high 24 digs. She also finished with a match-high three service aces.
The Lady Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Friday, Oct. 28, when they host Valdosta State for Senior Night. First serve is set for 6 PM.
