University of Memphis Tiger Offense Explodes in Win over Tulsa

In their third consecutive AAC win, the Memphis Tiger offense shined as they cruised to a 5-2 win over Tulsa.

 

After today's game, Memphis moves to 7-4-4 for the season and 3-1-3 in American Athletic Conference play.

 

KEY MOMENTS

  • Momo Nakao got the ball rolling in the 26' when she found Saorla Miller in the box for the early 1-0 lead.
  • The Tigers would get a goal from Eef Kerkhof in the 54' off an assist from Miller. 
  • After Tulsa scored just two minutes later, it would the duo of Kerkhof and Miller again, this time Kerkhof finding Miller open in the box for the 3-1 lead with 35 minutes left in the match.
  • The Golden Hurricane would pick up their second goal of the half in the 64', but Memphis would seal the deal after Jocelyn Alonzo and Momo Nakao scored back-to-back insurance goals for the 5-2 win.
 

NOTABLES

  • Saorla Miller, Eef Kerkhof and Momo Nakao all scored and assisted on goals tonight.
  • The Tigers outshot Tulsa 25-3 and won the battle on corner kicks 14-2.
  • Claire Wyville picked up her fourth win of the season.
 

UP NEXT

  • Memphis will play in their final regular season match when they travel to Dallas, Texas to take on SMU on Thursday, Oct. 27. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
