Lemoyne-Owen College Lady Magicians Pick Up Road Win In SIAC Cluster

The 2022 volleyball season has been a struggle for the LeMoyne-Owen College women's volleyball team.

This past weekend the team did something they hadn't done all season long. Reginald Morris and his team went on the road and picked up a huge win over Kentucky State in Frankfort, Kentucky. The Lady Magicians won in 4 sets and received another strong performance from freshman Lauren Canady who provided the team with 21 kills.

If the saying "your only as good as your last game" is true, the Lady Magicians are going to be just fine moving forward.

The combination of strength of schedule and inexperience has really hurt the team this season. The Lady Magicians are now 3-20 on the season with wins against Crowley Ridge, Tougaloo, and now Kentucky State.

This past weekend the team went 1-3 in the SIAC Cluster. Not only was the win their  first road win of the season, it was also their first conference win of the season.

Despite the teams record they have taken major strides since their seasons opene, against Ouachita Baptist. Early in the season, the teams losses were lopsided, more recently they have been a lot more competitive.

The Lady Magicians return to Bruce-Johnson Hall October 20th against Miles College. The team will look to remain undefeated at home.  The match will begin at 6:00pm.
