Rhodes Swim & Dive opened their 2022-2023 season with an exciting win over conference rival Millsaps College!
The Women's team, the preseason pick to win the SAA conference, won convincingly with a 199 to 35 total. The Men's team picked second in the preseason poll and also won convincingly by a margin of 196 to 38.
Along with the impressive home victory, the Lynx set eight records. Sophomore, Adeline Carroll, set three new pool records: 2:12.69 in the 200 freestyle, 2:41.90 in the 200 breaststroke, and 2:27.19 in the 200 individual medley. Junior, Emily Robinson, set a pool record in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:36.30. Two freshmen also set pool records this Saturday, with Jack Whitten's 1:07.94 in the 100 breaststroke and Paxton Smythe's 1:17.81 in the 100 breaststroke.
The Lynx finished the meet by setting records in both the men's and women's 200 freestyle relays. The women's relay consisted of freshmen Gracie Shapard, Paxton Smythe, Mackenzie Roach, and sophomore Adeline Carroll. Freshmen Jeb Brownell and Jonas Hostetler, sophomore Daniel Snyder, and senior Evan Ziolkowski made up the men's relay team.
The Lynx look to keep the momentum going by traveling to two weekend meets Friday at the University of the Ozarks and Saturday at SAA foe Hendrix College.
