University of Memphis punter Joe Doyle was named the Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week on Tuesday. He was also named to the Ray Guy Award Ray's 8 for his performance in the team's 44-34 win over North Texas this past Saturday.
On the day, Doyle punted eight times for 400 yards, posting a terrific average of 50.0 yards per punt. He pinned the Mean Green inside the five-yard line twice in the first half with punts of 62 and 54 yards. For the game, Doyle had three punts downed inside the 10-yard line.
Memphis will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 1 when the team will play host to AAC rival Temple at 11 a.m. at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
