The University of Memphis Tigers Prepare for Fall Ball Schedule

The University of Memphis baseball team will kick off the Kerrick Jackson era with a fall exhibition against the University of Arkansas-Little Rock in Millington, Tenn., on Oct. 29 before traveling to Jackson, Tenn., on Nov. 6 to take on the University of Tennessee in its second fall exhibition at The Ballpark. Both games will take place at 1 p.m. CT on their respective days.

"The idea of getting the opportunity to scrimmage first and then play some outside competition in back-to-back weekends to finish up our fall will give us a good barometer of where we are as a program and it will give our guys a barometer as well," Jackson said.

The Tigers will ramp up preparation with fall practice beginning on Monday, Oct. 3 and it will run through Sunday, Nov. 13, concluding with Memphis' "Fall World Series" that begins on Nov. 7. The Tigers' "Scout Day" will coincide with the second fall exhibition against the Volunteers on Nov. 6.

"Because of what we have done with our fall, right now there has been some lead up to fall, and the guys are getting excited to go out and get in some team practice and start scrimmaging before it ramps up to outside competition."

The Jackson Rockabillys of the collegiate Prospect League will play host to the Tigers and Volunteers with Tennessee slated to be the home team. The two in-state universities will square off in an 18-inning exhibition scheduled for 1 p.m. Tickets go on sale the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 7 a.m. CT. Fans interested in purchasing tickets can do so by visiting rockabillysbaseball.com or in person at the stadium in Jackson.

$3.5 million renovations are continuing this fall at FedEx Park Avron Fogelman Field as part of the program's transformational plan. The project was made possible by generous donations from Memphis businessman, philanthropist and lifelong-baseball enthusiast Avron Fogelman and stadium namesake FedEx. Renovations are scheduled to be completed prior to the 2023 spring season.
