Cost of college was unchanged for all students at the University of Memphis

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at the University of Memphis, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Tennessee residents paid $9,317 to attend the four-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 125.7 percent more than residents this year, or $21,029. Their price tag was unchanged from $21,029 in 2017-18.

About 86 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Tennessee residents. About 12 percent are residents of other states and 2 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 2,440 students received grants or scholarships totaling $24.1 million and 1,460 students took out student loans totaling more than $8.2 million.

Including all undergraduates (21,458), 13,637 students used grants or scholarships totaling $102.6 million, and 9,569 students took out $66.2 million in federal student loans.
