Steve Cohen, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 9th district, recently shared his thoughts on social media concerning legislative actions and public health matters. His tweets reflect his opposition to certain policy decisions and his advocacy for the welfare of everyday Americans.

On March 11, 2025, Cohen criticized a newly passed funding bill by Republicans. He stated, “Republicans just passed a partisan funding bill that gives Trump & Musk a blank check to keep gutting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid & more.” Cohen expressed his disapproval by voting against the bill, emphasizing that “working families and everyday Americans shouldn’t be the ones paying the price for their extreme agenda.”

Shortly after this post, he provided additional information about his stance through another tweet linking to a full statement. On March 11, 2025, he tweeted “Full statement here https://t.co/wPcwKWSl5b”.

On March 13, 2025, Cohen turned his attention to public health issues in another tweet where he questioned HHS Secretary Bobby Kennedy’s views on infrastructure cuts. He asked “And what does health guru and HHS Secretary Bobby Kennedy think about this? Will cutting bike lanes and pedestrian infrastructure help combat obesity or ‘make America healthy again’? Absolutely not.”
