Steve Cohen, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 9th district since 2007, recently shared his concerns on social media regarding political developments. His tweets focused on issues surrounding former President Donald Trump and a Senate vote.

On January 21, 2025, Steve Cohen expressed alarm about actions taken by Donald Trump shortly after being sworn in. “Minutes after being sworn in, Trump launched attacks on the rule of law and our Constitution: abusing emergency powers, pardoning violent Jan6 rioters & threatening birthright citizenship,” he tweeted. He described these actions as part of an “authoritarian playbook” that threatens democracy and emphasized the need to counteract them.

In a follow-up tweet posted on the same day, Cohen directed readers to a more detailed statement. “Full statement here:” he wrote, providing a link for further information.

Later that day, Cohen urged constituents to influence their Senators’ votes concerning an unspecified individual named Kennedy. “Please urge your Senators to vote no on Kennedy. He is a danger to our children.”
