Steve Cohen, a U.S. Congressman representing Tennessee’s 9th district since 2007, shared his thoughts on various political topics through a series of tweets. His remarks addressed past political claims and current public health issues.

On January 28, 2025, Steve Cohen tweeted about several controversial statements made in the past regarding political events and promises. He referenced the 2020 election, the claim that Mexico would pay for a border wall, and the size of the crowd at former President Trump’s first inauguration. Cohen expressed skepticism about these assertions with a dismissive tone: “As well as the 2020 election was stolen and Mexico was gonna pay for the wall and the Trump‘s first inauguration was the largest crowd ever on the Washington mall, etc. etc. etc.”

Later that day, at 20:06 UTC, Cohen questioned economic concerns by tweeting: “So it’s not the price of eggs?” This brief tweet suggests an inquiry into ongoing discussions or debates about economic issues affecting consumers.

In another tweet posted at 23:08 UTC on January 28, Cohen addressed public health leadership qualifications. He stated that questioning established vaccines’ efficacy should disqualify someone from leading a major health agency like HHS. Specifically targeting Robert F. Kennedy Jr., he wrote: “Questioning the efficacy of something like the polio vaccine should be automatically disqualifying for someone being considered to lead the agency responsible for safeguarding America’s public health. The facts are clear: vaccines work and RFK Jr. has no business running HHS.”
