Steve Cohen, a current U.S. Congress member representing Tennessee’s 9th district since 2007, has been vocal on social media, particularly regarding economic and political issues. He recently shared his views on a series of topics through tweets on March 31, 2025.

In a tweet on March 31, 2025, at 17:33:40 UTC, Steve Cohen criticized the impact of former President Trump’s tariff policies, stating, “Trump’s tariff wars are making everything more expensive. And it’s about to get worse. And while we’re paying more for food, medicine, appliances and car repairs, the GOP wants to slash Medicaid, Social Security, SNAP & more to give billionaires a tax cut. They do not care.”

Later in the day, Cohen made another brief post at 21:24:23 UTC, referencing a growing urgency by stating, “Pants on big, hot 5 alarm fire.”

Concluding his posts for the day, Cohen elaborated further on political matters at 21:46:01 UTC, focusing on Trump’s intentions for a potential third presidential term. He stated, “Trump isn’t joking about a 3rd term. He says ‘a lot of people’ want it—the same ones who want to see him in a robe & crown. But the Constitution doesn’t allow for kings or 3rd terms. He swore an oath to the Constitution. Not to ‘a lot of people’, or the mob that tried to.”

Cohen has been a resident of Memphis for many years, where he was born in 1949. He has an educational background from Vanderbilt University and the University of Memphis.
