Steve Cohen, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Tennessee’s 9th district since 2007, recently shared several posts on his official Twitter account regarding leadership, legislative action, and commentary on current events.
On December 1, 2025, Cohen praised an international figure in human rights activism: “Sir William Browder is a brilliant and courageous leader for freedom and justice”.
Two days later, on December 2, 2025, Cohen addressed energy policy by announcing the reintroduction of bipartisan legislation related to the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). He stated: “Today I reintroduced the bipartisan TVA IRP Act to strengthen how TVA plans for the Valley’s future energy needs. It expands public participation, increases transparency, and brings independent expertise into the IRP — helping ensure reliable, lowest-cost power for families in”.
In another post dated December 3, 2025, Cohen commented briefly: “Truth not truth social”.
Cohen has represented Tennessee’s 9th district since succeeding Harold Ford Jr. in Congress in 2007. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Tennessee Senate from 1983 to 2003. Born in Memphis in 1949 and currently residing there at age 73, Cohen holds degrees from Vanderbilt University (BA) and the University of Memphis (JD).
