Memphis men’s golf is set to compete in The Johnnie-O at Sea Island, an annual collegiate tournament hosted by Rutgers University. The event will take place at the Plantation Course at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia, on March 9 and 10.
The competition will span two days and cover 54 holes, with players scheduled to complete 36 holes on Monday and the final round on Tuesday. The tournament will begin each day with a shotgun start at 6:45 a.m. Central Time.
The Plantation Course, which measures 6,999 yards and plays as a par-72, was originally constructed in 1928. It underwent redesigns in 2019 by Davis and Mark Love and is recognized for features such as bulkheads, railroad ties, and chocolate-drop mounds. The course is also notable for hosting the PGA Tour’s RSM Classic.
Teams participating alongside Memphis include Cincinnati, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia Southern, Kansas, Kennesaw State, Minnesota, NC State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State, Princeton, Rutgers, UNC Greensboro (UNCG), and West Virginia. Several Big Ten schools are present in the field this year.
Tournament play will follow a stroke play format where five players from each team compete and the four lowest scores count toward the team total.
