FOIA Request to Mid-South Christian College Regarding Chinese National Students on May 14, 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in educational institutions, we have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Mid-South Christian College. This request seeks detailed information about the presence and support of Chinese National students at the college.

The specific records requested include:

1. Documents or lists showing all current students who are Chinese Nationals, along with their respective departments of study. If this information is protected, we have asked for the total number of such students and a breakdown by department.

2. Details on scholarships awarded to these students, including the amount each student receives and the source of each scholarship.

3. A list of recipients of any scholarships affiliated with the Chinese Scholarship Council that are not covered in the previous request.

4. Policies or procedures outlining how the university monitors its students, including Chinese Nationals, to safeguard its Intellectual Property and other confidential information.

This request is made under the Tennessee Open Records Act, emphasizing our role as media professionals in gathering and reporting news to hold public institutions accountable. We believe that access to these records will enhance public understanding and transparency regarding international student engagement at Mid-South Christian College.

In collaboration with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to investigating governmental agencies through Freedom of Information laws, we aim to shed light on these important issues for the benefit of the American electorate.
