U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn has released a new episode of her podcast, “Unmuted with Marsha,” where she discusses recent economic developments in Tennessee. The state has secured 30 projects since November 2024, resulting in approximately 3,700 new jobs and $1.2 billion in economic investment.
In the episode, Blackburn speaks with Stuart McWhorter, Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD). They discuss several initiatives, including attracting international direct flights to Tennessee, investing in rural communities, and expanding broadband access to bridge the digital divide.
Senator Blackburn highlighted President Trump’s influence on these developments: “We’ve heard so much about President Trump’s first 100 days… I was at the White House last week with the President as he was announcing some of these projects that have taken place.”
Commissioner McWhorter added insight into the ongoing efforts: “It’s been a busy several months for sure… Since President Trump was elected… we’re seeing activity in our state pick up. A lot of companies globally are looking to reshore and establish a stronger presence – not only in the United States – but certainly in the State of Tennessee.”
The episode can be downloaded online for those interested in hearing more about these economic advancements.
